Art at Night

Bristol and Warren's monthly gallery tour provides a showcase for local creativity

Posted

Bristol and Warren both boast thriving art communities, but even enthusiasts may not fully appreciate the depth and breadth of the gallery scenes. Now the towns have combined their resources to launch Art Night, a "gallery stroll with a twist" happening the last Thursday of every month from March through November. It's a collaboration between the Bristol Independent Galleries and the Warren Arts Initiative that will showcase the diverse galleries of both waterfront towns, and offer a glimpse into the inner workings of artists' studios, as each month will feature studio tours with two local artists. A free trolley service will run between the tour stops and parking lots in the two towns, and merchants and restaurants will get in on the act, offering special deals on Art Nights. The nine-month effort launched on March 29 and runs until November 29. The October 25 edition features ceramic artist Pat Warwick and stained glass artist/sculptor Ed McAloon.
