As part of AS220’s annual Modern Movements Dance Festival, Evans and several of his dancing Friends will celebrate his 78th birthday. Friends are Providence-area professional artists Amy Burns, Kristina Berger, Melody Gamba, Don Halquist and Greg Woodsbie. Special guests will be adult tap dancers from Elaine Colaneri’s Modern Jazz Dance Company and the Dean College School of Dance. Each show will include a wide variety of Evans’ modern dance and rhythm tap choreography and will conclude with Claire Porter’s See You Around, performed by Evans and Halquist.
Special feature will be a world premiere of Chronos and Kairos, composed and played by pianist Greg Woodsbie and danced by Kristina Berger and Bill Evans.
