Omega-3 Salad Dressings are produced in Peace Dale

WINE DIVAS RETURN
Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant at 1149 Division Street in Warwick is once again holding its Wine Diva nights. For $49.95 per person, guests are served four courses of food with wine pairings. Tax and gratuity are included in the cost. The upcoming Wine Diva nights are set for October 2, November 13 and December 4. These events begin at 6pm and end at approximately 8:30. NEW OWNERS FOR JIGGER’S
Just about everyone loves Jigger’s, the iconic diner on Main Street in East Greenwich, which has opened and closed in recent years. The good news is that Jigger’s has new owners, Stephen and Karie Head, who hope to have reopened the diner. They’ve been sprucing up the retro interior, and say they are committed to the diner’s culinary tradition of generous breakfasts and lunches.

Jigger’s famous pancakes will still be offered, especially the gingerbread pancakes I love so much. The diner will be open for breakfast and lunch. Eventually the new owners also hope to open for dinner on a limited basis.

A NEW RHODE ISLAND PRODUCT
Omega-3 Salad Dressings are now being produced in Peace Dale by Carder Starr and Gary Ranaldi. The dressings are an alternative to fishy Omega-3 capsules that people take to help prevent heart disease. One serving of the salad dressing is equal to two Omega-3 fish oil capsules. The dressing flavors celebrate Rhode Island – Newport Honey Mustard, Plum Beach Ginger Plum, Rose Island Raspberry Vinaigrette and Block Island Balsamic Vinaigrette. The new line of salad dressings can be found in health food stores, specialty food stores and independent supermarkets, or online.

TIME FOR WINE
A five-course wine dinner will take place on Thursday, October 25, at the Coast Guard House in Narragansett. Wines from K Vintners and Charles Smith Wines will be paired with the food. The event begins at 6:30pm. The cost is $45 per person. For reservations, call 789-0700.
