Go With The Float

A summer favorite with a local twist

Froth overflowing and dripping down the sides of a chilled glass, cherry perched precariously on a bed of whipped cream, and that sweet, licorice scent of root beer. An ice cream float is a quintessential summer treat, and we like ours with root beer, which happens to be produced by our very own Yacht Club Soda. To make your own Rhody root beer float is simple: Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream from Rhody Fresh in a tall float glass, pour in the root beer, and top with a dollop of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry if desired. Now that’s what we call a sweet summer.
