Paint Night – with Tequila

Tequila Canvas mixes spirits and art in Westerly

Posted

About five years ago, Wendy Carr had an idea: She wanted to host a painting class at her restaurant, Amigos Tequila Y Taqueria, and help participants loosen up with Mexican spirits. The result was Tequila Canvas, a regular painting workshop for artists of all skill levels.

The two-hour class is taught by local artist Jeanette Vertentes. While you paint, you can select from a wide range of tequilas, or order a margarita from the bar. Class sizes are usually 20 to 30 people. And you don’t have to be Frida Kahlo to participate; all you need is a valid ID and a good attitude. Amigos hosts Tequila Canvas every month, along with weekly Taco Tuesday specials and recurring pop-up pasta nights. This month’s class is held February 28 at 6:30pm.
